Handling bulk materials in smaller bags or rigid containers multiplies the number of handling steps, increases labour cost, and creates more packaging waste per tonne of material moved. For operations handling granular, powder, or bulk solid materials, flexible intermediate bulk containers offer a significantly more efficient alternative.
Bulk bags are large woven polypropylene containers designed to hold between 500 kg and 2,000 kg of material in a single unit. They are filled from the top through a spout or open top, transported by forklift using lifting loops, and discharged from the bottom through a controlled outlet. The flexibility of the bag body allows the container to collapse flat for storage and return when empty.
RFA supplies bulk bags in a range of safe working load ratings, with liner options for moisture-sensitive or food-grade materials, and filling and discharge configurations suited to different handling setups. Food contact and UN-certified grades are available where required.
