Camera systems improve visibility but have limitations in low light, dusty environments, and situations where the operator is focused on the load rather than the monitor. Radar-based detection adds an independent layer of collision prevention that works regardless of visibility conditions.
Forklift radar systems use short-range radar sensors to continuously scan for people and objects in defined detection zones around the truck. When the system detects a presence in the alert zone, it triggers an immediate warning to the operator and in some configurations, automatically reduces truck speed or brings it to a stop.
